Glycol trunk lines come in various sizes, ranging from 1/4" I.D., which is suitable for runs less than 50 feet, 5/16" I.D., which can go up to 100 feet, and 3/8" I.D., which can handle runs of hundreds of feet. These lines are pre-made into bundles that are insulated. With each tube dedicated to its own brand of beer, and two or more glycol lines touching each one of these tubes; bundles range from 2+2 (2 product + 2 Glycol) up to 20+4 (20 product plus 4 glycol).They can also be custom-made depending on what the customer is looking to do. The glycol lines are set in the center with the product lines running around them. This ensures proper temperature control.Each trunk line is insulated with commercial-grade insulation, foil tape, and water barrier tape. This keeps the lines from sweating in warm/humid areas. Condensation can occur if the trunk line isn't wrapped properly with a glycol system.

The importance of these trunk lines lies in their ability to keep draft beer cold as it travels through them, even on long distances between the cooler and draft towers.
